The molecular structure of monomeric N-silyldimethylamine, SiH3N(CH3)2, has been determined in the vapour phase by the sector-microphotometer method of electron diffraction. The Si-N and C-N bond lengths are 1.715 ± 0.004 Å and 1.462 ± 0.004 Å, respectively: the Si-N-C and C-N-C angles are 120.0 ± 0.4° and 111.1 ± 1.2°, respectively.
