Barsoum, and Yury Gogotsi present a brief historical overview of the first 10 years of MXene research and a perspective on their synthesis and future development. The cover shows a colored SEM image of a multilayer Ti3C2 MXene particle with an accordion-like morphology, which is produced by individual MXene layers stacked together.
