Synthesis and Crystal Structure of a Dimeric 1,2‐Diaza‐3‐sila‐3,5‐cyclopentadiene

A heterocycle with SiC double bond in the ring is formed as intermediate in the reaction of (1) with tBuLi. This intermediate dimerizes to (2) (X-ray structure analysis). Evidence of the existence of the SiC species is provided by EI-and FI-mass spectra.
