The reaction of 1,3,5,7‐cyclooctatetraene with sodium‐postassium alloy and dihalogeno(diisopropylamino)boranes in 1,2‐dimethoxyethane gives the title compound, characterized by elemental analysis, MS (EI, FI), NMR ( 1 H, 11 B, 13 C), and X‐ray crystallography.
