They suggested that the association of these three autoimmune disorders in the same patient might be due to a single pathogenetic mechanism and concluded that a defect in immunologic response could make a selected population more liable to develop certain autoimmune disorders.We have recently seen a patient with myasthenia gravis and autoimmune thrombocytopenia and have discussed the possibility that the same genetic marker might be involved in the predisposition to both disorders (2).The patient is a 29-year-old woman...References1.
