Biofunctional Microfibers In article 2300983, Rui R. Costa, Iva Pashkuleva, and co-workers use flow-focusing microfluidics for the interfacial complexation of defect-free microfibers from collagen and sulfated glycosaminoglycans – the most abundant components of the nervous system–s extracellular matrix. The generated microfibers copycat the anisotropy and mechanical properties of the nervous tissues. Moreover, it is demonstrated that the innate bioactivity of different glycosaminoglycans is determinant for neural cell development.
