Epidemiological Trends and Projections of Incidence, Prevalence, and Disease Related Mortality Associated With Peripheral Arterial Disease: Observations Using Nationwide Danish Data

Within an unselected nationwide population, the incidence and all cause mortality of PAD have declined over the last two decades. Concurrently, prevalence increased and is projected to increase further over the coming decade, emphasising the growing burden of this common atherosclerotic disease in ageing populations.
