A stimulated emission at 1.25 mu m has been studied under excitation of potassium vapor via a K(4S to 5S) magnetic-dipole transition. A chain mechanism of amplification, including a magnetic-dipole Raman scattering (M1-RS) and an electric-dipole four-wave parametric emission (E1-FWPE), has been introduced to model this emission.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
