The authors' results suggest that vasopressin can be used as a first-line vasopressor agent in postcardiac surgery vasoplegic shock and improves clinical outcomes.
Increase in body temperature is associated with a linear increase in heart rate of 9.46 beats/min/°C in female and 7.24 beats/min/°C in male patients. These observations will help to correctly interpret heart rate values at different body temperatures and enable more accurate evaluation of other factors associated with tachycardia.

Vasoactive agents may influence not only splanchnic blood flow but also the distribution of blood flow within the gut and the balance between oxygen supply and demand in the splanchnic area. This article focuses on the effects of pharmacologic agents including adrenergic agents, prostacyclin, nitric oxide donors or inhibitors, and hemoglobin solutions on splanchnic blood flow.
