This paper presents a tool which goal is aiding the user to choose the best Decision Support Software between a set of Software residing in a database, according to the features desired, and using multicriteria decision methods. This application was developed using the C# programming language and allows to save in a file all user data, such as the set of Decision Software Tools under consideration and its features to be used afterwards.

In this article a deep search of the literature of online scheduling is conducted. This paper intends to assess the developments and solutions found for online scheduling problems. Online scheduling is a very important topic since most of the real scheduling problems have dynamic characteristics. First, it was developed a literature review about scheduling problems, dividing them in stochastic and deterministic problems as well as in online and offline problems. Then, a bibliometric analysis was performed. Finally, some case studies in the field of online scheduling were analyzed. Online Scheduling is mostly explored in industry and health areas. In some articles explored there is a rescheduling, and the sequence of task may change due to the arrival of new tasks. In other cases, the new tasks are introduced in blocks of time that do not affect the previous schedule. This last technique is limited, since, with the arrival of new tasks, the schedule is not re-evaluated. Therefore, it is thought that, in future work, within the scope of online scheduling, when new tasks or other significant changes enter the system, the system should be evaluated, allowing the necessary changes to be made to the existing schedule. The Industry 4.0 and the evolution of Internet of Things (IoT), Deep Learning and Machine Learning favours a continuous and real-time flow of information, which allows the implementation of real-time online scheduling. This is a branch that should be explored in future works.
Good corporate governance, which influences organizational performance, is the foundation of effective internal control. Adopting a governance paradigm, however, presents difficulties. By identifying and mapping processes and data, Enterprise Architecture (EA) may help with changes. Key Performance Indicators (KPI) provide important indicators for organizational activities. By employing a structured Balanced Scorecard (BSC), management may obtain a comprehensive overview of performance and make informed decisions to improve outcomes. In this article, we will present relevant concepts related to Governance Models, obtained through a comprehensive literature review. The advantages of implementing a suitable governance model and the essential tools for its development are also discussed. We will close with a summary and open research questions.
One of the engineering economics objectives is to do economic analysis of investment decisions. It has quite extensive applications since the investment may come from private companies or government entities. The analysis or evaluation of projects involves a set of techniques that establish feasibility parameters. These parameters are expressed by PBP (Payback Period number of years to recover the investment), IRR (internal rate of return) or NPV (Net Present Value). Thus, it has an important role on investment analysis or to buy a capital good, checking all technically feasible investment alternatives. This research is based on a case study, namely a project of extension of a micro enterprise, whose data was collected on Bank of Amazon. The Bank of Amazon is an agent for the application of policies and programs of the Federal Government in the Amazon region, as well as its feasibility and the potential to carry out the project. Based on these facts, it was studied the role of engineering economics in the evaluation of investment projects by the Bank of Amazon, located in the northern region of Brazil. It was concluded that the Bank relies on the economic feasibility and engineering economics to analyses the submitted projects, having as a reference a IRR parameter between 4% and 12% and a PBP of 4 to 12 years in the investment projects less or equal to R$ 400,000.00. Some opportunities and suggestions to extend and improve investment analysis procedures and tools are discussed at the end of this paper.
An optimal resource allocation approach to stochastic multimodal projects had been previously developed by applying a Dynamic Programming model [2] [3], which proved to be very demanding computationally. Approximations to the initial model had been also developed, still within DP framework [4]. Computing times were improved, but demonstrated the need for further developments. In this paper we report on the application of a recently developed technique for global optimization, the Electromagnetism Algorithm (EMA) [1], to this problem and demonstrate its superior performance to previously attempted approximations.

The expansion of textile and clothing production to Asian regions has both, increased competition and created a need for integration with the global supply chain. Strategies are being designed to improve competitiveness and responsiveness of the chains by increasing the diversification of products and value addition. This study formulates and examines the potential of such strategies and their implementation for textile and clothing chains originating from Pakistan. The strategies were developed based on a SWOT analysis followed by their prioritization through Saatys AHP and ANP. This work extends the previously developed phase of strategic planning to the implementation phase. Here we analyse the strategic plans using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method and taking into account relevant factors such as cost, time and implementability.

This paper presents the implementation of the dy- namic programming model (introduced in a previous paper) for the resolution of the adaptive resource allocation problem in stochastic multimodal project networks. A distributed platform using an Ob- ject Oriented language, Java, is used in order to take advantage of the available computational resources.
This paper is concerned with an extension of the Resource-Constrained Project Scheduling Problem (RCPSP) which belongs to the class of the optimization scheduling problems with multi-level (or multi-mode) activities. We developed a practical tool, useful to represent multi-mode projects, and to find a solution for the problem on hand – select the best mode for each resource in each activity in order to minimize the total cost, considering the resource cost, a penalty for tardiness and a bonus for early completion. We implemented an adaptation of a filtered beam search (FBS) algorithm to this problem, using the C# programming language. A “filtered beam” search is a heuristic Branch and Bound (BaB) procedure that uses breadth first search but only the top “best” nodes are kept. We give some of the most important solution details and we report on further computational results, by testing the application for different problem sizes.
