Dispersive magnetic micro-solid phase extraction (DM-μ-SPE) with<italic>in situ</italic>growth of Fe<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub>NPs is described for Cd determination by ETAAS.
To protect public health, the European Commission established maximum levels of certain contaminants permitted in foodstuffs. The maximum amount of lead allowed in bivalve mollusc is 1.5 µg g−1 wet weight. In the Galician Rías, which are important areas of shellfish production in Spain, high levels of lead have been detected in the commercial bivalve Dosinia exoleta (Veneridae). Given the environmental and socio-economical problems this could represent, Pb concentration was tested in D. exoleta from two Rías, and the relation of lead accumulation with body size studied in detail. Implications for fisheries management are also discussed in this paper. Results showed a strong dependence of Pb accumulation on body size, with lead concentrations increasing exponentially with shell length. Larger animals presented a 5-fold increase in lead concentrations above the maximum permitted level. The size limit (length beyond which D. exoleta should not be extracted for commercial purposes) was initially established at 40 mm; but a more comprehensive geographical study of Pb concentrations in individuals from 35 to 40 mm long revealed that this size limit was not protective enough, and 35 mm is proposed as a safer limit.
Laccase is a Class 1 oxidoreductase enzyme, which catalyzes the oxidation of a wide range of phenolic substrates. Previously, several reviews had highlighted on the industrial importance of laccase, including in food industry. Similarly, the ability of laccase to crosslink and polymerize food protein molecules had also been reviewed. However, no much review information is available on the crosslinking of protein molecules, mediated by phytochemicals. In this review, we highlighted on the laccase‐catalyzed, phytochemical‐mediated protein crosslinking conjugates, and their associated functional changes, reported by different research groups over the last 10 years. In many of these reported studies, milk protein components are utilized, along with the addition of selected phytochemicals (chlorogenic acid, ferulic acid). As proteins are major dietary components, while phytochemicals are plant‐derived chemicals with well‐studied bioactivities, their conjugations could potentially lead to the identification of novel health‐promoting compounds.
The ship straight-line tracking system is restricted by a nonintegrable second order nonholonomic constraint,so it has underactuated characteristic and is difficult to control.In this paper,first the control of the ship straight-line tracking was converted to the control of an actuated system by the output variable redefined method.The stabilization of ship straight-line tracking system,which can be ensured by the stabilization of the new system,was proved.Then the nonlinear continuous predictive variable structure control method was used to control the new system.The simulation showed the validity of this method,which can stabilized the course and sideslip synchronal,that is,the stabilization of the ship tracking system.Moreover the control performance was excellent even the system was affected by the parameter uncertainty and disturbance,the results show the strong robustness of this method.
