Here we present a summary of the round-table dis-cussion entitled “What is Aging, What Is its Rolein Alzheimer’s Disease and What Can We Do AboutIt?” from the recent conference, Challenging Viewsof Alzheimer’s Disease – 2004, held in Philadelphia,July 2004. Eight scientists specializing in aging,Alzheimer’s disease, and neurobiology discussed thedefinition of aging, how aging theory relates to under-standing Alzheimer’s disease, and what insights fromunderstanding this relationship could be applied to de-veloping means to treat or prevent this disease.
