Orbital ionisation energies and electronic transitions of the 1:1 addition compound between BF3 and H2S have been investigated by ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy and electron energy loss spectroscopy. The σ→σ* transition of the donor-acceptor bond is assigned to an energy loss feature at 9.4 eV.
