Identisch oder Brüder? Nanokristalline Palladium-Platin-Legierungen mit gut definierten verzwillingten Strukturen (siehe Bild) wurden durch Coreduktion von Pd- und Pt-Salzen hergestellt. Die Bildung verzwillingter Morphologien erfordert Koaleszenz zwischen zunächst gebildeten kleinen Partikeln während der langsamen Reduktion. Über die Steuerung der Reduktionskinetik lassen sich Kristallinität und damit Form der Nanokristalle leicht einstellen.
