The demand for following robots is expanding with the aging population and smart cities. Ultrasonic-based following robots are a cost-effective solution. Considering that ultrasonic waves are easily interfered with by co-frequency ultrasonic waves, this paper proposes an ultrasonic-based anti-interference following scheme. Based on this, a car-shaped following robot is designed and implemented. Experimental results based on real scenarios show that our robot can achieve accurate linear-following and turn-following under the interference of co-frequency ultrasound, which demonstrates a high value of application.
