Storage developers and system operators remain interested in the potential of "firming" wind power at individual plants. The work presented here analyzes the energy required to firm individual plants, and the sensitivity of that energy to plant type, contract period, measurement period and forecast accuracy. The intent of this work is to provide quantitative design guidance to developers of storage solutions and other firming applications.
