Study on qualitative and quantitative method of Toufengtong pills

Objective:To establish a qualitative and quantitative method of Toufengtong pills for the best quality control.Methods:TLC method was used to identify three herbal medicines(Radix Angelicae Dahuricae;Rhizoma Chuanxiong;Folium Camelliae) in prescription.HPLC method was used to determine the content of imperatorin in Radix Angelicae Dahuricae.The mobile phase was methyl alcohol-water(60∶ 40) and determined at 248 nm.Results:Three herbal medicines in prescription were distinguished exclusively with clear spots and good separation by TLC.For HPLC determination,the imperatorin showed good linear relationship(r=0.9999) in the range of 0.023-0.23 μg,the average recovery(n=6) was 97.7% with RSD of 1.9%.Conclusion:This method has a strong specificity,high sensitivity and fine conclusion and can be used in qualitative and quantitative analysis accurately for the quality control of Toufengtong pills.
