The current distribution network hardware in the loop (HIL) simulation testing relies on specialized hardware, which is costly and requires a large workload of control strategy development. This paper proposes a simulation testing method for distribution network control based on embedded energy management system (EMS) and Matlab. Firstly, an embedded EMS architecture is designed, including communication layer, data layer, background service layer, and display layer. Secondly, control configuration is implemented based on the AOE network and automatic differentiation technology, which supports the simple implementation of distribution network control strategies through "building block". Based on technologies such as the Rust programming language, HTTP container, embedded database, asynchronous non-blocking communication, and WebAssembly, the EMS that can be deployed on embedded devices has been implemented. Thirdly, achieve HIL simulation testing through communication between the embedded EMS and Matlab simulation model. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method was verified through the orderly charging control experiment on charging piles in the distribution station area.
