In a recent paper published in <i>Cell</i>, Li et al. suggest that selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) antidepressants act on serotonin transporters on CD8<sup>+</sup> T cells to enhance antitumor immunity. Beyond this mechanism, SSRIs can act on malignant cells, as well as on other immune cells, to improve cancer immunosurveillance.
