The resonant cubic optical response of the dye 2-phenylbenzothiazole (PBT) doped in poly-(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) is studied by resonance coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (RCARS) in nanosecond regime. The RCARS spectra of PBT/PMMA are analyzed in the range 650–1350 cm−1. The electronic part of the second molecular hyperpolarizability, γ
el.PBT, of PBT in this structure is evaluated.
