Reification of mental illness: Some considerations

This chapter presents a commentary on the reification of mental illness, as discussed in the previous chapter. It explores two key issues raised in the previous chapter: the nature of mental illness as referring to a concept, not a given thing; and the issue of subjectivity and interpersonality as indispensable elements of psychiatry.
