I read the article by Lipton et al.1 Epidemic opioid use disorder, most apparent in North America and parts of Europe, is associated with widespread access to prescription opioid analgesics.2 Over the 4 decades that I have worked in United Arab Emirates and in India, I have never used any opioid preparation to manage acute severe pain of migraine.
