Changing the shape of things to come! [email protected] core–shell nanostructures with tailored morphology, ranging from nanorods all the way to spheres, through octahedrons (see picture), can be easily fabricated at room temperature through the selective reduction of Ag+ ions onto the surface of Au nanorods by using hydroquinone as a reducing agent.
