Abstract This study reports about a new ion chromatography method for the detection of chloride ions in sweat as an alternative to the gold standard of the chloridometer. Information about necessary materials, required preparations, reference ranges, advantages and disadvantages of this method is provided. We finally demonstrate that this method is useful to screen for cystic fibrosis in sweat samples. Article Highlights.
