Prevalence of anxiety and depression symptoms among patients with psoriasis in Kabul, Afghanistan Dear Editor, The prevalence of psoriasis varies across geographical regions, affecting at least 60 million people globally. 1Psoriasis is a multifactorial, immune-mediated disease involving both genetic and environmental factors, of which emotional stress plays a vital role in the onset and exacerbation of psoriasis. 2s with other dermatological conditions, psoriasis worsens with stress, affecting ~37%-78% of patients. 2To the best of our knowledge, there are no studies examining the frequency of mental health symptoms in people with psoriasis in Afghanistan.
