The boron-nitrogen (BN) aromatic compounds represent a unique hybrid system and display attractive photophysical and chemical properties. In article number 2202433, Huanan Huang, Jianguo Wang, Ben Zhong Tang, and co-workers design two BN-pentacyclic isomers through stitching engineering. Systematic research revealed that the crystal structure, aromaticity and photophysical properties vary with the change of BN embedded patterns, indicating that precise control of stitching pattern is of great importance to effectively modulate molecular properties. Such a discovery vastly extends knowledge of the structure and functionality of BN-doped polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, making them very encouraging in the materials chemistry field.
