Abstract

Significance Drawing from whole-genome sequences of multiple genotypes, this study documents the molecular-genetic consequences of the loss of recombination in a microcrustacean, demonstrating that loss of heterozygosity via gene conversion-like processes is a dramatically more powerful force than accumulation of new mutations.
