Pitting Corrosion of Inconel 600 in High Temperature Chloride Solution Under Controlled Hydrodynamic Conditions — M. Karaminezhaad-Ranjbar (1985) | RDL Network
Pitting corrosion of mill annealed Inconel 600 in buffered 0.1 M NaCl solution was studied as a function of temperature (25 to 250 C) under well-defined hydrodynamic conditions (flow velocities from 0 to 158 cm/s) in an annular flow channel. Flow velocity had no significant effect on the breakdown potential over the entire temperature range studied, but some influence on the morphology of attack was noted. Temperature was found to be an important parameter, however, in determining the susceptibility of mill annealed Inconel 600 to localized attack in buffered 0.1 M NaCl solution.
