Faceted gold nanoparticles are synthesized for SERS. By optimizing the synthesis conditions, the total enhancement is 4 orders of magnitude higher than spherical colloidal nanoparticles. The total enhancement factor of SERS using nanotriangles is 10<sup>11</sup>. Article not available.
