Nanomaterials occupy an increasingly diverse space in research across the physical sciences. One major area impacted by nanomaterials is energy, including harnessing, storing, and converting. We sought out researchers with different backgrounds and levels of experience to develop a picture of the future roles for nanomaterials. In this Voices piece, they provide their opinions in response to an open-ended question: What is the most exciting role for nanomaterials in the future of energy research?
