Abstract

Protein–protein imprinting of silk fibroin is introduced by Fiorenzo G. Omenetto and co-workers on page 2409 as a rapid, high-throughput method for the fabrication of nanoscale structures in silk films. Imprinting on conformal surfaces is demonstrated with minor adjustments to the system, at resolutions comparable to other currently available nonplanar nano imprint lithography techniques. This new method opens further avenues for compatible device fabrication, and will expand the utility of silk as a bridge between high technology and biomedical application.
