Highly Hydrated Silk Materials Inspired by the mechanical training-driven structural remodeling strategy in biological tissues, Shengjie Ling and co-workers develop an engineered mechanical training strategy for self-reinforcement of highly hydrated silk materials to improve their inherent mechanical and optical properties and broaden potential applications in tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and soft devices, among other fields.
