The purpose of the study was to assess the impact of materials contents presented in the media and social media in the formation of public opinion on the activity and performance of the police institution. The hypothesis of the study was: H1: the public image is distorted in the presentation of the media message H2: we are dealing with an informed public, which recognizes "fake-news," subliminal messages, persuasion, and manipulation techniques H3: personal experience or more extensive documentation is significant. The methods research was the opinion poll (survey) based on the questionnaire, using Google Forms. We started tarting from the premise that ideally, the activities of an institution and the actions of its members are obvious and publicized. They can create a public image, regardless of its quality.
