Magnetoelectric effect in rare earth ferrites, LnFe2O4

Dielectric and magnetic properties of selected rare earth ferrites, LnFe2O4 (Ln=Y,Er,Yb), have been investigated. All these materials show ferroelectricity near the ferrimagnetic transition temperature around 250 K. More importantly, they exhibit a change in the dielectric behavior on the application of magnetic fields.
