Back Cover: The self-healing behavior of mussel byssal threads is believed to depend on aspartate moieties incorporated into the protein structure. The improvement of the self-healing capacity of synthetic supramolecular networks using aspartate in the presence of histidine–zinc interactions is demonstrated by Martin D. Hager, Ulrich S. Schubert, and co-workers in article number 1700742. The addition of aspartate into mussel-inspired self-healing materials leads to better self-healing ability with approximately constant mechanical properties.
