Cover: The present study reveals a strong relationship between binding strength of the transition metal ions used and stability of the metal terpyridine homopolymer complexes during SEC measurements. Coordination of bis ‐terpyridine‐PEG ligands with nickel(II) ions yielded a supramolecular chain extended polymer with enhanced mechanical properties, which were investigated by nanoindentation.
