Withthedevelopment ofwindenergy techniques, the capacity ofoffshore windfarms(OWF)isgetting larger andthe distance toshoreisgetting longer. Thisfactresults inmany different kindsofconfigurations oftheelectrical systemdesign within thewindfarm. Besides thecosts ofthewindfarmsystem, whichisconcerned allthetime, thereliability oftheelectrical systemofthewindfarmisalsoveryimportant inthedesign phase.The index- LossofGeneration RatioProbability (LOGRP)hasbeenproposed toevaluate thereliability ofthe electrical systemwithin an offshore windfarm.Thispaper provides further discussion ofthisindexandapplies ittoa complex system. Comprehensive studies willbeconducted to investigate theeffects ofthecomponentratings, thenetwork topology andother factors onLOGRP withasample OWF asa reference. The reliability sensitivity isalsodiscussed. The analysis presented inthis paperisuseful bothforfuture wind farmplanning andexisting OWF evaluation. I.INTRODUCTION
