Ion chromatography determination of the content of the sulfate in vitriol of carraghenates and its suppository

Objective:To establish a method of Ion chromatography method for the determination of the content of the vitriol in earraghenates and its suppository.Methods :The contents of the vitriol in carraghenates and its suppos- itory was measured by Ion ehromatography,a column of Metrosep A Supp 5 (150 mm×4.0 mm,5μm) ,with mo- bile phase of 3.2 mmol·L~(-1)Na_2CO_3 and 1.0 mmol·L~(-1) NaHCO_3,at a flow rate of 1.0 mL·minL~(-1),column temperature was 25 ℃.Results :The calibration curves showed good linearity in the range of 55.08-550.8 μg· mL~(-1) for vitriol,correlation coefficients were 0.9996.The average recoveries (n=9) was 99.7% ,RSD was 0.7%.Conclusion:The method is simple,sensitive,accurate and reliable for determination and quality control of carraghenates and its suppository.
