This paper investigates the interactions between the ac side and the dc-link in voltage-source rectifiers (VSRs) and current-source rectifiers (CSRs). The impedance in the ac side and dc-link is proved to be the critical role in the ac/dc interactions. It is found that the ac/dc interactions affect the low frequency range dynamics in VSRs while high frequency range in CSRs. Furthermore, together with the time delay effect, stability analysis of direct dc-link control is presented, which shows the impact on tuning controllers caused by the ac/dc interactions varies from VSRs to CSRs. Simulation and experimental results are given to validate the theoretical analysis.
