Drop by drop: The reduction of iron acetate deposited onto surfaces by hydrazine vapor results in the formation of nanometer-sized particles and was investigated by means of SFM (see picture), TEM and XPS. The uniform size distribution of the formed particles can be explained by a model that involves the conversion of needle-like aggregates into individual particles.
