a-axis oriented EuBa2Cu307 films have been irradiated with high energy heavy ions in dXferent configurations to study the possible pinning role of the artificial clefin this krnd of samples. ‘l%eoriginal pinning limiting mechanism of the samples is not essentially altered what the irradiation is parallel to the CU02 planes. However, when it is deviated from this direction, an increase in critical current density and a change in pinniig forco are observed whm the ma~etic field is parallel to the columnar def~ at values around the matching field.
