Design-Katalysator: DFT-Rechnungen zufolge kann Phosgen in der Carbamoylierung von Arylaminen durch Dimethylcarbonat (DMC) ersetzt werden, wenn ein CeO2-Katalysator genutzt wird, der vorrangig die energiearme {111}-Fläche präsentiert. Experimente bestätigen diese Voraussage: CeO2-Nanooktaeder mit energiearmen {111}-Flächen führen hoch aktiv und selektiv zum gewünschten, doppelt carbamoylierten Produkt.
