Since a large amount of calculations are required when the Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control (FCS-MPC) is experimentally implemented, a considerable computational delay is introduced. In order to eliminate this computational delay, a modified FCS-MPC scheme for the grid-tied inverter with LCL filter is presented in this paper, which is capable to generate a higher quality (lower THD) grid-injected current. A step-by-step design procedure of the modified control strategy is described in detail. Simulation on a three-phase 4.6-kW model is built to verify the performance of modified control scheme.
