Unexpected failure could be caused by single event of RAM of the 1553B bus chip, which affects spacecraft's stability on orbit. In this paper, the 1553B RT (remote terminal) chip RAM is divided into several segments and each segment has different failure detect strategy. Based on this, the application software can detect the faults and locate where it is, then through isolation or replacement of fault, it can be recovered from the fault. Through simulation and verification on platform of OBC (On Board Computer), the failure detects and recovery strategy described in this paper is effective and has much more advantage in time and accuracy than the traditional method depended on the ground telecommand.
