This paper proposes a new Wave Energy Converter (WEC) extremum-seeking control method using Flower Pollination Algorithm (FPA) to achieve the maximum power absorption. This method can absorb the maximum power from the wave energy as well as the reduced Power Peak-to-Average Ratio (PPAR). Different from the existing methods, the proposed one does not depend on the dominant frequency of irregular waves, the accurate knowledge of excitation force, and WEC parameters.
