Applicability of diffuse reflectance FTIR spectroscopy method was investigated for semi-quantitative determination of oxygen containing impurities in potassium chloroaluminate KAlCl4. The developed method allows to determine the oxygen associated with a OH-group when the analyzed object holding in air.
