He graduated with a PhD from the University of Ulster, UK in 2007 and completed a post-doc at University of Aveiro, Portugal in 2011. Prof Rafi is actively engaged in different projects related to fire and earthquake disaster management and risk reduction. He has 20 years of teaching and research experience. He is the Editor-in-Chief of NED University Journal of Research. He is the author of one book, two book chapters and a number of research papers for journals and conferences. His current research interests include seismic analysis and retrofitting of RC and masonry structures, post-earthquake fire, fire resistance of concrete structures, finite element analysis of RC structures, behaviour of recycled concrete and experimental analysis of RC structures.Tariq Aziz is a lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering at NED University of Engineering and Technology, Pakistan. He is currently pursuing his PhD in the Centre for Infrastructure Engineering at Western Sydney University, Australia. His research interests include materials in civil engineering, geopolymer concrete, and structural fire engineering.
