The FLIPR system is a most adequate to monitor intracellular Ca(2+) mobilization and to evaluate chemokine receptor antagonists. However, flow cytometry and its multiparameter analysis allow additional characterization of the cells involved in the chemokine receptor-mediated signal transduction.
