Emergency caused by natural disaster is not easy to tackle, this paper enlightens the existing mechanisms to deal this situation including various methods like MANET, APPs and WSN. Communication setup generally going to be failed in post disaster situation that pushes human into danger and might send them to casualties. Several Applications are in use to provide facilities for disaster management, but due to their design purpose, it has limitations in use. All these are designed to solve specific types of problems; these applications have been discussed in this paper. This paper provides a comparison between different tools used to help in disaster management. These mechanisms were designed with WSN and MANET that will be able to communicate across the obstacle without the help of infrastructure network for a post-disaster scene while sensing done by sensors of the mechanism to send prior alert within the mechanism of WSN and IoT based setups. At the end of the paper, author proposed an alert mechanism using these tools.
