In order to meet the reqirements of power communication for large capacity and high reliability in respect of data transmission and network application, it is a good solution to combine the electric power network together with the optical fiber network. This paper introduces the concept and characteristics of electric power optical fiber compound network through a demonstration project. It points out that the compound network can share the resources and reduce the costs.
